The Dominion War was one of the defining conflicts in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, bringing the Federation, Klingon Empire and Romulan Star Empire into a major struggle against the Dominion, Cardassian Union and later the Breen Confederacy. The war devastated parts of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants and produced some of the most important battles in Star Trek history. Major events include the Second Battle of Deep Space 9, Operation Return, the First and Second Battles of Chin'toka, the Battle of Cardassia and the Federation Alliance's campaign against Dominion-controlled territory. Important figures include Benjamin Sisko, Worf, General Martok, Gul Dukat, Damar, Weyoun, Odo and the Female Changeling. Dominion War starships and weapons included Jem'Hadar fighters, Dominion battle cruisers, Cardassian Galor-class ships, Klingon Birds-of-Prey, Romulan warbirds and Breen warships equipped with an energy-dampening weapon. The conflict also features the Bajoran wormhole, the minefield, the Federation Alliance, Cardassian resistance and the political struggle that ultimately brought the war to an end.
